Description

I am pleased to offer this beautiful vintage 1940s signed Weiss large leaf figural shaped smokey rhinestone/diamante demi parure consisting of brooch and clip on earrings.  This set is very dramatic in design and is in excellent vintage condition, both clip on earrings and brooch stamped Weiss on reverse.  A very collectible demi parure - beautiful coated mirrored effect on diamantes and marquis shaped stones.  Clip on earrings measure 1 ¼ inch in length.  All stones clawed, intact and original.  This set is a book piece and is quite rare to find.

Weiss Jewellery was founded by Albert Weiss in 1942 on Fifth Avenue, New York, having worked for Marvella and Coro.  Weiss sold some very high quality, high end jewellery and accessories, featuring really good detail and finish. They were not a very large company as some of the other jewellery manufacturers at that time but they did produce different lines for different purses.  Albert Weiss created most of his jewellery in clear and coloured rhinestones and diamantes and was well known for his designs in bugs, flowers and butterflies. Weiss jewellery is becoming more and more popular to avid costume jewellery collectors as the Weiss Company closed for business in 1971, thereby making it more collectible and desirable.
